NUFSA Japanese Language Course for Families

NUFSA Japanese Language Course for Families is organized by the Nagoya University International Student Association (NUFSA) in cooperation with the Support Team at the Global Engagement Center. Twice a week, specialized instructors help family members learn Japanese using textbooks.

By participating in this course, international families have the opportunity to meet other families and experience life in Japan. Let’s enjoy our time in Japan by learning Japanese together!

Who can Join

Families of international students, research students, and faculty/staff at Nagoya University, or the individuals themselves, who need to learn Japanese. As a principle, people not affiliated with Nagoya University cannot take the course.

Course Period

Spring semester (from May to July) and Fall semester (from November to January)

Spring Semester 2026

Duration: May 7, 2026 (Thursday) – July 23, 2026 (Thursday)
Class Schedule & Class rooms:
Tuesdays and Thursdays
Class 1(Beginner): 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM
Class 2(Elementary): 11:10 AM – 12:40 PM
Classroom: # 201, 2F, International Center (国際棟 kokusai-toh), Nagoya University Map C5① 
Participants will be notified if the room changes.

Opening Ceremony: 10:00-11:30 May 7, 2026 (Thursday)

Textbook:Marugoto: Japanese Language and Culture, A1 for Rikai ” You will learn practical Japanese for everyday situations.

Registration

** After confirming your registration on the Forms, we will notify you of the payment procedure via email.
** Enrollment Limit: 12 participants per class on a first-come, first-served basis.
** Course Fee: 15,000 yen (includes textbook cost)  Please note that fees are non-refundable even in the case of mid-course withdrawal.
